Mother's Day in the US falls two months later than in the UK, and the Duchess of Sussex celebrated the landmark occasion at the happiest place on earth - Disneyland!
Taking to Instagram, the former Suits star shared snippets of the joyous outing with her husband, Prince Harry, and their adorable children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in tow, as well as her beloved mother, Doria Ragland.
Despite the fact that Meghan partook in an action-packed day, hopping on and off rides, she still looked expertly chic, donning a white button-down shirt and timeless denim jeans. The brunette royal finished the look off with a pair of her Veronica Beard loafers. As a fashion editor who has been writing about royal style for almost nine years, I would categorise this look as 'old money' style.
It's a typically classic preppy aesthetic, with a polished, slightly old-school feel. It's fair to say that Princess Diana's casual look embodied this trend.
Speaking of Princess Diana, Meghan's latest ensemble is hugely reminiscent of the late royal's look she was known for, particularly during the early '90s. Perhaps this was a subtle tribute to her mother-in-law, on a day that celebrates mothers.
The former wife of King Charles was never seen in anything less than polished, even when she was snapped running errands, but her off-duty uniform of jeans, a simple classic white shirt, and loafers was revolutionary.
Diana often donned this getup - the ultimate canvas - simple, elegant, timeless, and forever polished, no matter the occasion.
Although it may seem simple, it hits many points. White shirts always lighten the face and create a healthy, youthful stance, whilst a pair of jeans stops the shirt from looking like a uniform. It's why, over thirty years later, this look is still embraced and adored by so many, including Meghan.
Inside the Sussexes' Disneyland trip
Prince Harry was by Meghan's side as they walked with their children around the Anaheim park, with Lilibet in an adorable sleeveless floral dress and Archie in a black shirt and blue jeans, just like his father. While the young prince also wore Mickey Mouse ears, the Duke of Sussex chose a grey trucker cap instead.
Meghan also shared a picture of Lilibet receiving a hug from the Disney park's Cinderella actress, as well as a photo of the young royals on a boat ride.
The As Ever founder paid tribute to Doria on Mother's Day with a video from their Disney day out, which saw Mickey Mouse get down on one knee to kiss the proud grandmother's hand as Meghan laughed in delight.
