Pleasantville star Reese Witherspoon has confirmed that she's expecting her second child. Appearing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the actress revealed that she is pregnant and, by the sounds of things, her daughter Ava is just as happy as she is.
"My daughter is so excited," she told Jay. "She's making lots of preparations around the house. The other day she told me 'Mommy, the baby needs something – cheese snacks'. We had to go to the store and get lots of cheese snacks."
Of course Reese's husband, Gosford Park star Ryan Philippe, is also over the moon at becoming a father again. The pair found out they had a new baby on the way after returning from a second honeymoon in the Caribbean.
According to press reports they had gone on holiday because their relationship was under strain, but friends say the news has healed those difficulties. "She's bounced back entirely to her old self," said a close friend. "She and Ryan are closer than ever."
And the future is also looking bright for Reese's career, as the 27-year-old was recently named "Hollywood's most bankable actress" by Entertainment Weekly. She is set to take home a whopping $15 million for her next movie, Legally Blonde II.
