First-time dad-to-be Russell Crowe was apparently so excited about finding out his wife Danielle Spencer would be giving birth to a son, he immediately told a crowd of cheering fans.
Just hours before the Oscar winner took to a Chicago stage recently as the front man for his rock band 30 Odd Foot Of Grunt, he was told that singer Danielle, due in January, was expecting a baby boy. Unable to contain himself, he revealed the happy news to the 600-strong audience in the midst of the concert.
Russell has made no secret of the fact that he's thrilled to become a dad, and has already gone about reshuffling his priorities. In fact, his upcoming movie, Cinderella Man alongside Renee Zellweger, was set to start filming in January – Danielle's due date – but has now been postponed because the Gladiator star wants to be able to welcome his new arrival in person.
"It will be hard to find reasons to work once the baby is here," he said recently. "I've told Danielle, write your next album now, so you can tour after you've given birth, and I'll stay home. My agent in America is nervous about that, I think."
