For a man who has spent the last few months getting drenched in water, flung through the air and generally beaten up, Kurt Russell appears to be a remarkably happy man. The silver screen veteran didn't seem to have a care in the world when he and his partner Goldie Hawn stepped out for the premiere of Poseidon in London's Leicester Square on Sunday night.

Having endured all manner of physical hardships during filming of the disaster movie, which is set on a sinking ocean liner, the actor was obviously glad to have both feet back on dry land.

And his co-stars were even more relieved to have finished work on the production, as several of them were accidentally injured on the set. "Any time you do these kinds of pictures you're going to have physical bang-ups and stuff," explained the 55-year-old actor. "People got injuries - Josh Lucas got hit by me, by my flashlight and that cut him pretty bad."

The Sweet Home Alabama actor wasn't the only one left nursing a sore head, as newcomer Mike Vogel revealed when he spoke to reporters outside the screening. "Kurt knocked me out," said the 25-year-old. "But no better a guy to be knocked out by than Kurt Russell!"

The new film, which is a remake of the legendary 1972 thriller starring Gene Hackman, has impressed critics across the pond in the US. It seems unlikely its cast will be in any rush to sign up for a sequel, however. "I'm not going on another cruise ship as long as I live!," joked Aussie actress Jacinda Barrett.
