As Nip/Tuck's emotionally damaged plastic surgeon, Julian McMahon is never happier than when he's in the company of striking women. So the actor was on buoyant form this week as he turned out for an exclusive party celebrating the start of season four, flanked by Roma Maffia, the show's smart, no-nonsense anaesthetist, and Ally Walker, his colleague from US detective programme Profiler.
Julian and co were joined by Brooke Shields, who took time out from motherhood, to make a guest appearance in the series. Treading the red carpet in a slinky little black dress, the actress was showing no signs of the tiredness that must come keeping up with her daughters, three-year-old Rowan and Grier, four months.
Meanwhile camp comic Eddie Izzard also rolled up to the glamorous evening do. Cashing in on Hollywood's current fascination with the TV Brit pack, the comedian has popped up in a number of big-budget productions. He had a part in Uma Thurman vehicle My Super-Ex Girlfriend, appeared in Ocean's Twelve opposite Brad Pitt and George Clooney, and is currently shooting the third in the crime caper trilogy.
