Matt LeBlanc in 2014
Born in Massachusetts in 1967, Matt LeBlanc is known to millions as Joey Tribbiani, the promiscuous and dim-witted but beloved Friends character.
He got his acting break in 1987 in a Heinz Ketchup advert, and a year later starred in his first TV series, TV 101.
In the early 1990s he played various supporting roles and then in 1994 won the role that would change his career.
Friends would go on to become an international success and become one of the most popular sitcoms of all time. Matt's character Joey was a struggling actor who found fame as a doctor on Days Of Our Lives.
FRIENDS: TEN YEARS ON
In his attempts to flirt with women, Joey often asked: "how you doin'?" which has become one of TV's most iconic catchphrases.
By the end of Friends, Matt and his co-stars were earning $1million per episode, and in 2011 he returned to the small screen with BBC drama Episodes for which the star won his first Golden Globe Award.
In 2003 Matt married his long term partner Melissa McKnight, and the pair had a daughter, Marina, in 2004.
They split in 2006, and Matt is now in a relationship with Andrea Anders.
