Rebecca Adlington has become the latest casualty of Channel 4 reality show The Jump, after dislocating her shoulder while pulling off a risky stunt. The former Olympic swimmer was left in agony after losing control while practicing a ski jump at more than 30mph on a 100 metre long icy slope.

The 26-year-old said the pain she felt was "worse than childbirth" as her shoulder was dislocated for 40 minutes before she was carried away to an ambulance while taking in gas and air.

Speaking during Sunday night's opening episode of the entertainment show, Rebecca said: "What people didn't see in the edited footage is that I was lying there with a dislocated shoulder for 40 minutes. It was worse than childbirth and it's still horrible now because people keep knocking my arm."

Meanwhile an insider told The Sun: "Rebecca's fall was incredibly nasty. One minute she was flying through the air, the next she was crumpled on the crash mat and clearly in a lot of pain."

Becky announced she had signed up for the show in January, admitting that while she had never tried winter sports before, including skiing, she was up for the challenge.

The former Olympian admitted that she is missing her daughter Summer while filming

"I am a total beginner and have never been skiing before in my life so it's definitely going to be a tough challenge for me," said Becky, speaking as the new ambassador of Slazenger Swim.

"I'm one of a few total beginners who has never ever done it before. I don't think I am going to do too well so I wouldn't put your money on me. Hopefully I can come away a decent skier and do alright – I just don't want to be first out!"

The accident isn't the only challenge Rebecca has faced while filming the reality show; the doting mum has admitted that she will miss her daughter Summer, who visited her in Austria a week ago.

"Been sooo nice having this little one out here, going to miss her so much this week! :(," Becky captioned a sweet photo of them together on Instagram.
