The Rookie has given fans a first look at season five episode 20, but there's a catch. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the ABC drama released an exciting new teaser trailer, but it was the caption that left fans disappointed. It read: "Things get a little weird when #TheRookie returns, April 18 on ABC! Stream on Hulu."

After learning that the show would be taking another three-week hiatus ahead of the episode's premiere, several followers were quick to voice their frustration in the comments. "Three weeks??? Dang it on these gaps @abcnetwork you're lucky we Rookie fans LOVE THIS SHOW and put up with your schedule shenanigans," replied one.

"@therookieabc can someone explain why a break AGAIN?? This is really annoying," added another. Meanwhile, a third commented: "But I don't want to wait three weeks, three hours, three days, a week but not THREE WEEKS! Before we know it, the finale will be here and we'd be waiting months for a new season! Give. Me. Reasons! #TheRookieabc #Chenford #Tucy."

While the official synopsis for episode 20 is yet to be released, the trailer has already given fans an idea of what to expect. In a dramatic twist, Tim Bradford's (Eric Winter) ex-wife Isabel is set to return. "Isabel, she's in town and needed to talk," he tells Lucy in the clip, which leaves her feeling "weird" about the situation.

"Please leave #chenford alone!" replied one fan, after watching the trailer. "Oh no, Isabelle! Please don't rock the boat!" added a second.

Meanwhile, Skip Tracer Randy (Flula Borg) is in for a bumpy ride in the episode after he's supposedly framed for two brutal murders. Looks like John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) and Nyla Harper (Mekia Cox) have a strange case on their hands.
