Sian Brooke is currently starring as rookie cop Grace Ellis in BBC One's gripping new police drama, Blue Lights

The six-part series follows Grace, a mum in her 40s, who leaves her stable job as a social worker to join the police service in Northern Ireland. But where have you seen Sian before?

Where have you seen Sian Brooke before?

Sian has established an illustrious TV career, starring in various major series over the years. One of the star's most notable roles is playing Benedict Cumberbatch's on-screen sister in the popular BBC series, Sherlock. The actress played the iconic detective's genius sister, Eurus Holmes, for three episodes in season four. 

Viewers may also recognise her for her role in HBO's Game of Thrones spin-off, House of the Dragon, in which she played King Viserys' wife, Queen Aemma Arryn. The BBC star is also known for her role in the psychological drama, Doctor Foster, playing new GP Sian Lambert.

Aside from Blue Lights, Sian most recently appeared in the new series of Apple TV+'s comedy-drama series, Trying, in which she has played Nikki's sister, Karen, since season one.

Sian also featured as a main cast member in Good Omens and Guilt, as well as the ITV crime drama miniseries Stephen, which was based on the real-life murder of teenager Stephen Lawrence in 1993, and the 2022 four-part drama starring Sheridan Smith, No Return.

Her other screen credits include The Moorside, Cape Wrath, Lewis and Doc Martin. 

Sian is currently starring in Blue Lights, which follows three rookie cops as they attempt to navigate the unique pressures and challenges that come with policing in Belfast.

The synopsis reads: "All three are new police officers in their probation period with the PSNI, the odds are at least one of them isn't going to last. The pressure is immense, but if they succumb to it, they won't survive. Often the rookie officers don’t know the extent of the peril they are in, or who they can trust.

"What's it like to have to hide your job from neighbours, friends and even family? How do you distinguish between who needs your help and who wants you dead simply because of the uniform you wear?"
