Lisa Jakub shot to fame in the 1990s after starring in some of the decade's most iconic films. She was just 15 years old when she played Robin Williams and Sally Fields' on-screen daughter Lydia Hillard in the beloved 1993 comedy-drama film Mrs Doubtfire, before going on to play Alicia Casse in Independence Day in 1996.

Over three decades later – and 25 years after quitting acting – Lisa hasn't aged a day. The former child actor, who is now a yoga teacher, often shares photos on her social media page, showcasing her trademark long brunette locks.

In a recent Instagram post, Lisa revealed how relocating from the east coast of America to her native Canada with her husband and dog last year had inspired her to create a new yoga programme.

"It has been wonderful but oh my god, change is hard," said Lisa. "I suck at change and I think a lot of us do and so I've been thinking a lot about this topic and I created this program that I'm going to be teaching at Kripalu in Massachusetts," continued the actress, who specialises in Kripalu yoga, a form of yoga that promotes the practice as an exercise that combines meditation alongside asanas and pranayama.

"So I am coming back to the US just to teach this program called The Space Between: writing and yoga for times of change," she added.

Fans were quick to comment on Lisa's youthful appearance in the comments section. One person wrote: "Keep glowing Lisa. Picture perfect," while another added: "Lisa you are beautiful."

Why did Lisa Jakub leave Hollywood?

As her acting career was flourishing, Lisa's mental health was deteriorating and following a string of TV shows and films throughout the 90s, she decided to quit acting.

"In my late teens, my career was going well. I followed up Mrs. Doubtfire with Independence Day, and if box office gross correlated with mental health I would have been doing great," Lisa wrote on her website, Blue Mala. "But it doesn't and I wasn't.

"My anxiety, depression, and panic attacks had become debilitating and my life no longer felt like my own," continued Lisa, who said she "realised if I was going to survive myself, that I needed help".

She ultimately decided that she needed to leave Los Angeles. "The Hollywood life was not for me, with its superficiality, misogyny, and endless competition," wrote the former actress, who left Tinseltown and trained at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health.
