Celebrity Traitors winner Alan Carr was awarded the Special Recognition award at the National Television Awards on Tuesday 8 September at London's O2 Arena. Following his emotional win, the Chatty Man star spoke to members of the press in the winners' room about his dark horse pick for Celebrity Traitors series two.

The 50-year-old said: "Do you know what, I'm super excited about Miranda Hart because Miranda reminds me a bit of me, and if they make her a Traitor, that is going to be TV gold."

He also noted that his friend Joanne McNally "is a motormouth" who will be a "whirlwind" addition to the show.

The comedian added that he would be keeping an eye on Richard E. Grant after his own experience with Celia Imrie. He recalled the viral moment when Celia farted during a challenge, saying that while everyone found it hilarious, he was "chained to her."

The second series is due to air on Wednesday 23 September with a 10-part run. Richard Osman accidentally let slip the release date during a live edition of The Rest Is Entertainment podcast. He was joined by former Celebrity Traitors finalist Joe Marler, who asked while offering advice to new contestants: "What is it, September 23, the next series?"

Richard replied: "By the way, to point out, it’s absolutely embargoed that it starts on September 23 … let’s talk about what we call the events of September 23 this year … the cat's out of the bag isn’t it? Not to repeat it." He added that, from what he had heard, the upcoming series would be "intense".
