Claudia Winkleman welcomes a host of new famous faces in a first look at season two of the hit BBC game show

The wait is over: the BBC has finally unveiled a first look at the highly anticipated second season of Celebrity Traitors. 

The teaser opens with host Claudia Winkleman entering a church, where she addresses a congregation of famous faces gathered for a funeral.

"A moment of silence for the celebrities gathered today," she says, as the camera scans a lineup of anxious stars – among them Bella Ramsey, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Richard E. Grant, Miranda Hart and Ross Kemp. 

Standing before floral tributes reading 'RIP, VIP,' Claudia offers her "thoughts and prayers" before adding, "Who doesn't love a dramatic exit?" as she makes her way down the aisle.

What to expect from Celebrity Traitors season 2

Twenty-one famous faces will travel to the iconic Traitors castle in the Scottish Highlands for the "ultimate game of deception and betrayal" in the hopes of winning a cash prize of up to £100,000 for their chosen choice. 

Season two follows the show's smash-hit debut in October last year, which saw the likes of presenter Alan Carr, historian David Olusoga, actress Celia Imrie and actor Nick Mohammed descend upon the Scottish castle.

The series drew a huge average audience of 13.3 million across its run, with 14.9 million viewers tuning into the final. Traitor Alan Carr was crowned champion of the show, beating Faithfuls Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga to the £87,500 prize pot.

Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Maya Jama are among this season's stars.

Rounding out the cast are Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha'la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E. Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.

The Celebrity Traitors series two is coming soon to BBC One and iPlayer.
