Meet Thirtysomething star Polly Draper's two very famous sons - from Nickelodeon child star to award-winning actor

Polly's eldest son Nat rose to fame alongside his younger brother in The Naked Brothers Band, a film that was written and directed by his mom. The film was bought by Nickelodeon and developed into a television series that spanned three series between 2007 and 2009. The project was a family affair, as it also featured their dad, Michael Wolff, as their on-screen father. 

By that time Nat had already been writing his own music for four years, performed in two off Broadway shows, and been a regular fixture at the Improv Comedy Club, so it appears he was always destined for stardom.

It wasn't long before Nat was playing leading roles in movies such as The Fault in Our Stars, Paper Towns and Home Again, alongside the likes of Shailene Woodley, Cara Delevingne and Reese Witherspoon.

Polly has always played a big part in her sons' acting careers; Nat and Alex also starred alongside their mother in Stella's Last Weekend in 2018, which she also wrote and directed.

Alongside acting, Nat has a continued passion for music and plays in a duo alongside his younger brother. The pair, who have released three studio albums together, toured with Billie Eilish as her opening act in 2024. Nat and Billie have since gone public as a couple, making their red carpet debut together in 2026.

He once aspired to be a professional skateboarder, but like his big brother, Alex Wolff has followed in their mother's acting footsteps. Both Alex and Nat starred together in The Naked Brothers Band, and according to Alex, it had some perks.

Speaking to the New York Times, Alex, then nine, said: "It’s better than working with anyone else. She’s your mom; she’s not an authority. You don’t have to behave."

Some of Alex's most famous film roles include playing Spencer in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and Jumanji: The Next Level, but just like the rest of his family, he is truly multi-talented.

Since his Nickelodeon breakthrough he has written and starred in his own play, and made his directorial debut with the 2019 film The Cat and The Moon, which he also starred in. 

Alex's love of music is also evident, and he performs in Nat & Alex Wolff alongside his sibling. Speaking to Interview magazine about the best and worst things about working together, the pair said: "We get to hang out with each other so much more than we probably would. Worst. No one can ever tell us apart. Even our mom can't these days. Our grandpa is 98 and has just decided there's one of us."

The actor also previously told People magazine that music is something that brings him and his brother together. "We know each other very well and we look out for each other's strong suits and pitfalls. It's hard to explain except that's probably why it's best done in music. It's not something intellectual. It's more something musical. 

"If you're there, you can understand what starts to happen between the two of us. We can balance each other out. And also, it's very natural. It's not a conscious thing where we're trying to manage each other or clip each other's wings. It's really filling in the blanks."
