Unprecedented twist set to derail 'unmissable' Celebrity Traitors semi-final

The Celebrity Traitors is reportedly headed for a "sensational" twist ahead of the series two finale on Friday.

Thursday's episode will finally reveal the outcome of last week's roundtable, where Sharon Rooney and Joanne McNally both came under suspicion. After receiving an equal number of votes, the pair were forced into a second round of voting.

It's now been revealed by The Sun that viewers can expect a "sensational" turn of events that not even the show's producers could have predicted. 

A TV insider told the publication that a twist of this kind is unprecedented and will result in an unmissable semi-final. 

What happened in last week's episode?

Sharon and Joanne aren't the only Faithfuls who have drawn suspicion, as both Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock and actor Sebastian Croft faced questions at the roundtable.

Meanwhile, all three Traitors, King Kenny, Maya Jama and James Acaster, were deemed the most trustworthy by their fellow contestants. As a result, Kenny was selected to receive a dagger during the mission and therefore received a double vote at the roundtable. 

Earlier in the episode, the Traitors chose to murder Miranda Hart. 

Discussing the decision to kill her off, James said: "She's a good detective, she's looking at all of us, she is the most likely to wake up one day and say, 'It's Maya, Kenny and James'."

After learning her fate, Miranda said in the confessional: "I am so cross with myself, I was wholly focusing on my Joanne issue."

She also reflected on how the show had allowed her to "get back and do the thing that I love professionally, and do the things I love personally, wandering round the Scottish Highlands and connecting in nature.

"There was times I didn’t think that would be possible again."

Miranda has previously opened up about struggling with chronic fatigue, which she has previously linked to her Lyme disease diagnosis.

The penultimate episode airs on Thursday 29 October at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer, followed by its spin-off series, The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked, hosted by Ed Gamble. 

The series finale airs on Friday 30 October at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer. The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked Finale airs straight after at 9.20pm.
