Pamela Anderson surprised viewers of ITV's The Nightly Show on Thursday night after showing off her sophisticated makeover. The former Baywatch star joined John Bishop on the talk show, where she talked about her close friendship with WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who she described as "one of the most important people in the world".

The 49-year-old stunned in a cream shift dress with floral detail, which she paired with metallic heels and a flower clip in her hair. Pamela showcased her new stripped-back look by wearing neutral make-up and a pretty pink lipstick.

It appears to be a deliberate decision from Pamela to experiment with both fashion and beauty in recent months, and she recently told Vogue that she is still discovering her true personal style. Speaking to the fashion public about the "classic" and "feminine" ensembles she has been wearing, Pamela said: "I have wonderful friends. Vivienne Westwood, Donatella Versace, Tom Ford, and these great people who have always been very generous to me. I've also had crazy, wild husbands and fun friends like David LaChapelle who wanted to dress me up for events.

She continued: "I feel like I've been a muse to a lot of people, a lot of artists and some designers, and it wouldn't necessarily be what I would choose to wear. I think now I'm really working on my personal style." Stylist Martina Nilsson has been helping her to overhaul her style, and it appears her beauty routine has also changed as a result.

As well as providing her with clothes, Pamela also has designer Vivienne Westwood to thank for her friendship with Julian Assange, who she has been pictured visiting at the Ecuadorian embassy on several occasions. "I met him through Vivienne Westwood... we started seeing each other every month, and now we see each other a lot more regularly," Pamela explained to John Bishop on the ITV talk show.

Adding that the work Julian does is "very important", the actress said: "I do really think he's one of the most important people in the world, and I think what he does is historic. He's very brave and he sacrificed a lot for all of us. He's brilliant, so stay tuned."
