Elle Fanning is joining L'Oreal Paris as a brand ambassador. The 19-year-old actress has already dipped her toes into the world of fashion, posing for brands like Miu Miu and Marc Jacobs, and now she's getting ready to take the beauty world by storm too. Elle's first outing as a L'Oreal spokesperson will be at the Cannes Film Festival later this month.
"To have little beauty anecdotes or confidence-boosters, or something along those lines shared by L'Oreal, I think is a really crucial thing," Elle told WWD of her long-held appreciation of the French brand. "When I was little, it was always so comforting - I just remember that L'Oreal lipstick smell."
She added that she admires the beauty giant for how it celebrates "women as a whole."
Elle follows in the footsteps of Julianne Moore, Naomi Watts and Blake Lively, among other famous faces, by joining the brand. L'Oreal's global president Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou is certain Elle will bring a fresh vibe to upcoming cosmetics campaigns.
"Elle is a natural choice for the brand, as it highlights our love for beauty and cinema," he beamed. "Indeed, she is the face for the new generation as an accomplished actress, but also an inspiring canvas for make-up artists."
The actress will also be showing off two of her movies at the iconic film festival; Sofia Coppola's remake of The Beguiled and John Cameron Mitchell's How to Talk to Girls at Parties. She stars opposite Hollywood veteran Nicole Kidman in both movies.
And in between shooting back-to-back films, Elle also managed to squeeze in a L'Oreal commercial, showing off the brand's Paradise mascara. "I got to say 'Because you're worth it.' I was like, 'That is so cool,'" she grinned.
