The Duchess assisted the Queen in hosting a star-studded reception at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, in honour of RADA, of which the Queen is a patron.

The stunning royal wore a red Alexander McQueen dress to meet stars such as Ralph Fiennes, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman and Sir Roger Moore. Kate also spoke with Dame Helen Mirren, who was presented with a fellowship at the BAFTAs on Sunday night by Prince William.

"My husband called you granny last night," Kate jokingly told the actress. "How delightful she was," recalled Helen. "Very sweet."
