Charlize Theron was virtually unrecognisable as she stepped out on Wednesday. The 40-year-old was spotted having ditched her trademark blonde locks in favour of a striking auburn shade, marking a dramatic new look for the star.

The South African actress wore a grey dress and hoodie with an overcoat as she headed out in Berlin, rocking a beanie hat over the gorgeous hairstyle.
However, the new look is not a permanent one for the star. In fact, Charlize was actually sporting a wig, as she continues to film upcoming spy movie The Coldest City, which also stars James McAvoy, in which she play an undercover agent sent to Berlin in the Cold War to investigate a murder.
It's no doubt been a busy few months for Charlize, who adopted baby daughter August last year. The news came as a surprise to fans, as the blonde beauty had given no indication of her plans to adopt another child since she adopted son Jackson in 2012 from South Africa. However, she had previously admitted she wasn't ruling out adding another member to her family.

"Yeah. I mean, I'm so open to anything in my life," she said when asked if she would like more children. "I was never like, 'Oh god no just one'. I was always kind of open to whatever kind of happens."
All eyes had also been on the star a few weeks before, after it was revealed that the Mad Max: Fury Road star and then-fiancé Sean Penn had split. The break-up came as a big shock to fans given that, in separate interviews, both had proclaimed the other to be the love of their life.
The former couple had been friends for nearly 20 years before they started dating in December 2013.
According to reports, it was Charlize who ended the relationship. "Charlize wasn't responding to his calls and texts," an insider told US Weekly. "She just cut it off."
