The actress teased fans with a snap of her chopped tresses on Twitter

Earlier in the week, Gina had teased fans with a photo on Twitter in which she held a handful of her chopped locks, tied together in a ponytail-esque style. "No hair, don't care. #locksoflove," she wrote alongside the snap, which sparked a frenzy amongst her fans as they eagerly awaited to see her new look.

As soon as the Sleeping with the Fishes actress unveiled her striking hairstyle on Instagram, comments began pouring in from fans on Twitter and Instagram, complimenting the star. Gina took the time to reply to some of their messages of praise and queries. When one fan asked her why she chose to rock the look, she replied: "It's for a film role. And I love it."

Gina also explained to another fan that she was happy to "transform" for a new role – and that shaving her head was a temporary look, as her tresses would eventually grow back.
