EastEnders fans were introduced to the loud-mouth Taylor family earlier in the year, with matriarch Karen notorious for her minimal make-up and casual attire. However, in real life, actress Lorraine Stanley looked worlds away from her alter-ego during a visit to the BBC Radio 1Xtra studios this week. Lorraine - who was joined by co-star Danny Walters, who plays her son Keanu on the BBC One soap - wore her long, honey-blonde hair down, and was almost unrecognisable with a new hairstyle. The 41-year-old, who is more often than not seen sporting a topknot while in character, showcased a blunt fringe, which framed her face beautifully. Lorraine was also sporting a full face of make-up, including a vibrant red lipstick, which added the finishing touches to her look.

Danny shared a photo of him with Lorraine and presenters David Michaelson and Charlie Sloth, which was uploaded on Instagram. The actor captioned the shot: "That was fun. We can’t reveal too much about the Christmas and New Year’s Day Episodes however I can guarantee you they’re not to be missed!!! Thank you for having us @charliesloth @bbc1xtra@bbcradio1." The Taylor family arrived in Walford in May, and have been involved in a number of dramatic storylines, including teenager Bernadette's miscarriage, which was praised for its sensitive portrayal by the cast.

The Taylors was introduced to the show by then-executive producer, Sean O'Connor. At the time, Lorraine said of joining the iconic soap: "I'm chuffed to be cast in such an iconic show that I've grown up watching. Working with my new family is really quite special, and I'm proud to play their mum." Danny added: "Having only been filming EastEnders for a few weeks, I feel so privileged to already feel a part of the team. Everyone has been so friendly and kind and gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome and supported. There has been a huge buzz surrounding the new family and I am so excited to see what the future holds for the Taylors. Keanu is very grateful to live at Number 23 Albert Square, and will try his best not to disturb the peace in the Square."
