Becky Adlington welcomed her baby girl on Monday 8 June
It is still not known exactly how Becky welcomed her baby daughter, but a water birth had always been a key feature of her birth plan.
"A water birth would be top of the list," said Rebecca. "A few friends have recommended it. I would like the birth to be as natural as possible, but you can't really plan it, can you?"
Harry added: "It makes sense for two swimmers to have their baby in water."
The new arrival was born less than a year after Becky and fellow swimmer Harry tied the knot in an emotional ceremony in Staffordshire.
Harry Needs and Becky Adlington married last August
On 31 August the pair said "I do" in the idyllic rural setting of The Ashes, a magnificent Grade II building set amid 50 acres of countryside, and later shared their glorious wedding album exclusively with HELLO!
In December, the couple revealed to HELLO! that they were expecting their first child and admitted that they were extremely relieved to find out the baby was developing well at their first scan.
"Thank goodness everything is okay," said Becky. "It was such a relief to see the heartbeat. I think you feel such a responsibility as the woman because you are the one looking after the baby. So Harry was more excited but I was more nervous."
During the following months the 26-year-old showcased her growing baby bump in a number of outfits – from glamorous dresses to a maternity swimming costume.
When Becky reached her due date on 4 June, she couldn't resist sharing a snap of her large bump.
"'I carried a watermelon'... Well my pregnancy app tells me she's the size of a watermelon and certainly feels that way!!!" she captioned the photo. "#ouch #pregnancy #pleasecomeoutsoon #excited."
