One week after Jaime King and her husband Kyle Newman welcome their second child, the newborn's name has been revealed. "So happy Leo Thames is in the world," announced proud daddy Kyle on his Twitter page on Thursday.
Former model Jaime also confirmed the name in a statement to Just Jared. "Kyle and I named our second son Leo Thames Newman," she said. "Our family couldn't be happier welcoming another little angel into this world. Thank you for all of the support and well wishes."
Jaime King has announced the name of her newborn son - Leo Thames Newman
A friend of the family revealed that the baby's name has a very special meaning for the couple. "Jaime and Kyle were married by the River Thames," the source said. "And Leo means strong and powerful."
Little Leo was born on 16 July, with Jamie announcing his safe arrival on Instagram on Monday. "We are SO happy to welcome to the world our new baby boy," the 36-year-old captioned an intimate family photo, showing her nursing her newborn in hospital, with director husband Kyle and their eldest son, 21-month-old James, sat by her side.
Jaime announced her second pregnancy in February, and shortly afterwards confirmed that she had chosen her best friend Taylor Swift to be the baby's godmother – actress Jessica Alba is godmother to James.
"I always knew she was going to be the godmother if I had another baby," Jaime told Elle of the Shake It Off singer. "Choosing a godmother is a very sacred and important thing in our family… we try and choose people who we know would raise out child the way that we would raise our child, and her thoughtfulness, her kindness, her authenticity… is so powerful to me. She's so uninhibited in her giving… It's just beyond."
