Emma Stone has revealed her biggest beauty regret

During one of Vogue's 73 Questions video, the American beauty admitted that she overdid it with the fake tan in her younger years. "Stop with the self-tanner, it's enough," she quipped when asked what advice she would give her teenage self.

It wasn't the only beauty secret she revealed during the clip. The Birdman star also revealed that out of all the hair colours she has rocked, including auburn, brunette and blonde, her favourite shade was "probably red".

The actress admitted she prefers her red hair colour

Emma caused a stir earlier this week with her hair, as she debuted a pixie cut style as she starred on the November cover of the fashion bible. Many fans took to social media to share compliments and surprise at the star's drastic makeover – however the look turned out to be temporary.

Despite rocking a boyish short length in the striking image, the 'do was revealed to be a wig when Emma was back to her shoulder-length bob this week as she attended a screening of new film La La Land, where she was joined by close friend Jennifer Lawrence.

Emma stars opposite Ryan Gosling in La La Land

The Hollywood starlet has been hard at work promoting the film with co-star Ryan Gosling in recent months, attending various film festivals with her hair still in a bob style.

The highly-anticipated musical rom-com will see Ryan playing Sebastian, a jazz pianist who falls for aspiring actress Mia, played by Emma, in Los Angeles.

It's not the first time that the pair have worked together, having previously both starred in Crazy, Stupid Love in 2011 and Gangster Squad 2013.
