Perrie Edwards has taken to Instagram to open up about her insecurities growing up about her skin. Writing to her 8.2million followers, the Little Mix singer wrote: "Growing up I was always insecure about the freckles on my face. Over the last couple of years I’ve started to embrace them and don’t feel I need to hide them anymore." She then shared a quote for others to live by: “Embrace your individuality. Love what you love without worrying about judgement.”
Her fans have rushed to support her powerful post, sending love to the 25-year-old for opening up. One wrote: "Self confidence is the best outfit. Rock it and own it," while another said: "I have them just like you! I always hated them also when I was young. Now, I love them!"
It's not the first time Perrie has shown off her freckles - at the beginning of June, she shared a topless photo, covering her modesty with two starfishes, and captioned the shot: "Mermaids have freckles and scars too... embrace them. I think they’re beaut!"
Perrie appears to have a new-found confidence since finding love with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The pair have just returned from a sun-drenched perfect looking holiday in Greece. The couple have shared loved-up photos, and appear more in love than ever.
Another champion of freckles is our very own Duchess of Sussex. The royal is keen to show off her freckles, and her former makeup artist, Lydia F. Sellers, revealed to HELLO! that her freckled look has always been intentional. "Meghan favours a less-is-more approach to beauty; fresh, dewy skin to show off her natural tone and freckles."
