Rita Ora just showed off her £500,000 engagement ring for the first time

The blushing bride stepped out in her latest daring see-through trousers look

Rita Ora has spent the start of 2023 schooling us on how to amp up the much-loved sheer clothing trend. Yesterday she gave us another lesson on how to make your underwear look cool in public, and gave a first look at her incredible engagement ring from filmmaker husband Taika Waititi.

She was clearly relishing the wedding vibes after her surprise hen party last week after the Fendi Couture show, as she gave a close-up of her incredible engagement ring on Tonight with Jimmy Fallon later in the evening. She tells Jimmy “I’ve actually never shown anyone my ring” before dazzling her emerald in front of the camera.

Engagement ring specialists at Steven Stone have taken a closer look at the singer's huge emerald ring that she apparently chose herself, “The stunning ring features a 10 carat emerald cut Columbian green emerald in a halo setting. Colombian emeralds are typically the most expensive in the world - with their beautiful depth of colour, they can sometimes appear to glow,” explained Creative Director, Maxwell Stone, “The stunning emerald is sat on a delicate gold band. Gold is the most popular wedding ring and engagement ring metal - representing eternal love and promise, it’s always a sentimental choice. I’d estimate Rita’s dazzling engagement ring to be worth $500,000.”

Is New York still cold in February? Not according to Rita. The How We Do singer stepped out in a pair of black netted trousers that gave a grandparent’s lace tablecloth a run for its money – and did so in the ultimate cool-girl style.

A black pair of pants underneath were of course on full display, but if that wasn’t enough underwear-inspired attire, she also layered a taupe piece of lace around her waist, which makes any other belt we own now feel boring.

The majority of times Ora has opted for a sheer outfit has been either for special events or on the red carpet. But her most recent outing proved that these trousers can be worn for any occasion, if you dare.

The 32-year-old opted for a pair of black calf-high boots underneath (what better way to wear trousers but also showcase your fancy footwear?) and showed us once again how to wear a mega cropped top in winter (as she did last week outside of the BBC studio). She wore a super short racer-back black vest and an open satin jacket over the top.

Her sartorial motto right now is clearly “new year, same Rita” (and rightly so), as her plethora of sheer outfits started in December at the Fashion Awards 2022 in one of Nensi Dojaka’s coveted sheer dresses. She then elevated the trend and wore a lingerie inspired lace two-piece to promote her new single You Only Love Me, followed by a stunning see-through purple lace dress by Rodarte to the Golden Globes pre-party.

She’s our unofficial see-through trend muse, and we can’t wait to see how else she keeps this daring trend alive.
