The Chanel AW23 Paris Fashion Week show boasted a front row that was equally as chic as its innate style agenda. We’re not sure whether scheduling the Louis Vuitton and Chanel shows on consecutive days was a welcomed serotonin boost or not, for the sheer fact the calibre of A-listers donning sartorial greatness on the FROW was enough to give us a heart attack.

After Louis Vuitton invited the likes of Zendaya, Pharrell Williams, Phoebe Dynevor and Princess Olympia (to name a few) to attend the show, Chanel hosted its show on the final day of Autumn/Winter week at the Grand Palais Éphémère and certainly closed the week with a bang.

Creative director Virginie Viard gave the French label’s signature preppy style a dark makeover for today’s show and quite frankly, we were captivated. The runway was awash with sculpted embellishments of its classic Camellia flower, tiered dresses, textured knits and of course – tweed, in an array of mostly monochromatic looks, blended with various hues of red and pinks, hitting the nail on the head with Pantone’s colour of the year, Viva Magenta.

VIPs also put on a textured masterclass, keeping us captivated on and off the runway...

Penelope Cruz

Penelope Cruz dazzled in a tailored blue mini dress that boasted Chanel’s signature tweed pattern with a fitted bodice and daring plunge neckline. A black elasticated belt with a statement silver buckle cinched in her waist from which multicoloured feathers draped over the A-line silhouette.

Charlotte Casiraghi

Monegasque royal and style muse Charlotte opted for a black maxi dress layered with a yellow, red and black tweed coat that reached the length of her dress hem. The subtle red stitching paired perfectly with her siren red platform mules and satin berry lip hue. Her loose pinned updo added an extra sprinkle of chic.

FKA Twigs

Talk about textures galore. The British singer spared no expense when it came to layering, wearing a burgundy and yellow wool mini dress over a dazzling champagne high neck jumper. She donned a distressed tweed coat on top that boasted a quilted shoulder overlay. Her jewellery made as equal-a-statement with a burgundy tiered necklace shrouding her neck.
