Romcom powerhouse Emma Roberts has stolen our hearts over the years with her warm, loveable on-screen portrayals, but the actress has just added another string to her bow, and we are impressed.

On Tuesday, the Holidate star celebrated an exciting new venture of the fashion variety. The former child actress hosted an elegant dinner to mark the release of her spring collection for Crown Vintage at San Vicente Bungalows in California.

The 32-year-old was serving major 90s vibes in a form-fitting corset mini dress layered over a classic white racer top. Emma's LBD featured hook and eye fastenings down the centre, and pockets decorated with glossy black piping.

The star finished off her look with a piece of statement outerwear, a shift silhouette leather coat and a pair of fisherman-platforms from her spring line which are the epitome of cool-girl style for SS23.

The Wild Child actress teamed her retro outfit (very Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in our mind) with a beauty trend from the same decade. Baby braids, aka face-framing micro plaits, dominated the hair scene in the 1990s and early 2000s, and to celebrate the launch of her fashion collection, Emma rocked hers with aplomb.

How to do Baby Braids?

"Baby braids are super simple. You want to start by creating that effortless wave in your hair, which is half of the job when completing this look.," Hello! Fashion's deputy beauty editor Elle Sixsmith explains.

"For the braids, you want to separate the frontmost part of your hair along your parting. Chunky perfect braids are a no go - you want these braids to be small, dainty and uneven, so make sure not to part too much hair."

"Start braiding each section following the direction the hair wants to fall and ensuring not to create a perfect plait. Make sure not to braid them straight forward or they’ll sit on your face."

"Tugging at the braid stitches can help you create the unevenness that makes these effortless. Finish off each braid halfway down the length of your hair with a see-through elastic."

"Repeat with two more sections closer to your crown. Lastly, to add some movement and stop your braids looking stiff, repeat the same technique with the straighteners bit over your braids, this will make them feel lived in and will complete the look."
