The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are settling back into UK life following their shock decision to U-turn on the US move they made in 2020. Whilst the royal couple are keen to keep their exact living arrangements under wraps and will not be revealing the location of their new home in Britain, Meghan Markle has given some major clues via her Instagram feed.
Clearly excited about their new life back home, Meghan has taken to Instagram a couple of times in the past few days to share snippets of their wholesome adventures in England - showing them to be clearly positioned in the countryside.
© InstagramOn Tuesday, to celebrate Prince Harry's 42nd birthday, Meghan shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram featuring a montage of unseen family photos and videos, many of which show their time in the UK. The Duchess captioned it: "He's simply the best. Happy birthday, my love." One image revealed Harry driving a quad bike with his two kids on the back and their family dog, black Labrador, Pula, running behind. The setting was a large estate featuring a fenced-off lake, which could well be their new grounds.
The final clip of the video was of a country lane in England, shot in the gorgeous sunshine. It appears as though the family have chosen a rural setting as their base, preferring to stay out of the limelight of London.
Meghan's first UK post
On Monday, Meghan had dropped another collection of clips, with the Union Jack overlaid, clearly showing it was moments taken back in Britain. One was an up-close shot of splashing in a muddy puddle, not giving too much away, but others revealed much more of the scenic location.
Princess Lilibet was seen riding her bike along a tree-lined double pathway where deer raced across in the horizon, all while Prince Archie ran alongside. Another clip showed a forest walk with their pet dog and then a sweet moment where Prince Harry took his children out fishing on a lake. This appears to be a different body of water to the other social media posts, but again, it could be positioned within their private grounds.
© InstagramHarry has previously pointed out Oxfordshire as a place he "loved" to live. In his memoir, Spare, he detailed the couple's time in the UK and in one chapter he touched on the Oxfordshire bolthole they lived in together ahead of moving into Frogmore Cottage. "We'd rented a house in Oxfordshire. Just a place to get away now and then [from] the maelstrom," he explained and while renovations took place at Frogmore, the couple remained there. "While the work was being done, we thought we could move into Oxfordshire full time. We loved it out there. The air fresh, the verdant grounds—plus, no paps."
© InstagramThe family also spent time at Althorp House in Northamptonshire this summer, which is an estate owned by Princess Diana's brother. It could be possible that Harry wants to live close to there considering the family connection.
