Maya Jama, 32, shot to fame as a bubbly presenter, and now she is winning our hearts as the ultimate conspirator on the second season of The Celebrity Traitors. But where does she relax when she's not busy gracing our TV screens?
The star currently owns two homes, a London home located in the affluent suburb of Hampstead and a secret Cotswolds bolthole. Find out more below.
Maya Jama's London life
Her early London days involved couch-surfing as she sought out her next presenting gigs, and then she rented a Ladbroke Grove flat before laying down roots in the capital. She bought her Hampstead home in 2023.
Upon moving in, Maya shared a snap of a "book wall" filled with the previous owners' reading material and a leftover cat box. The star prefers not to share too many looks inside her home, opting for selfies at glamorous events, behind the scenes on shoots or at lavish hotels around the world.
In the past, the star has admitted she feels out of place in the area. "Don't feel posh enough for Hampstead, but do get my coffee from Gail's now so that's a start," she joked with her Instagram fans.
Maya Jama's countryside purchase
In December 2025, the star added to her property portfolio, this time making a purchase outside of London, acquiring a three-bedroom countryside cottage near Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds. It was bought through her company, Penny Property Holdings, for around £520,000, and when Maya isn't staying, she rents it out. The Cotswolds is fast becoming a hit celebrity enclave, with celebrities like the Beckhams, Amanda Holden and Jeremy Clarkson all owning residences in the area.
Maya Jama's Bristol upbringing
A world away from her lavish properties now, the TV presenter grew up on a humble council estate in Bristol and attended local comprehensive school, Cotham. At just 16, she moved to London with dreams of being a TV star, and she's since gone on to present for MTV and 4Music, then landed Love Island and, of course, now has become (arguably) our favourite ever Celebrity Traitor.
Maya Jama's lesser-known life in Sweden
While the star may be well known for her connection to the West Country city of Bristol, you may be surprised to learn that she actually spent the earliest part of her childhood in Sweden. After being born in Bristol, she moved to her mother’s native country, Sweden, where she lived as a toddler and started nursery school before moving back to Bristol.
Maya once confessed to The Guardian that she can no longer speak Swedish, despite being fluent while living there.
