Sweden’s two beautiful young princesses arrived for the country’s State Opening of Parliament full of smiles and waves for the crowd. Crown Princess Victoria and her sister accompanied their mother, Queen Silvia, and father, King Carl-Gustaf along with the monarch’s 86-year-old aunt Princess Lillian for the inauguration of the autumn session in Stockholm.

The Scandinavian sun came out for the royal entourage as they rode through the crowds in open top carriages. Whilst the Crown Princess and her sister arrived with their indomitable great-aunt Lillian, the King and Queen travelled separately.

Both of King Carl-Gustaf’s daughters were elegantly decked out in soft-coloured suits and jackets with hats to match. Queen Sivila, meanwhile, wore a stately black outfit rimmed with white around the neck and cuffs.

Victoria, who turned 24 in July, is the only female heir to the throne out of the world’s 29 remaining monarchies.
