An iconic moment in the love story that has captured the world's attention will be recreated by Madame Tussauds.Ahead of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first wedding anniversary, the attraction will unveil figures of Britain's golden couple in four locations.

In London, admirers can see a likeness of Kate dressed in the blue Issa gown she wore at the announcement of the couple's engagement. Her figure will also sport the sapphire once worn by the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Her Prince wears a debonair navy suit.Visitors to the New York museum will see the Duchess in the pretty Alexander McQueen column she wore to wow Hollywood stars like Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lopez  in LA.

In Amsterdam, Kate will wear Alice Temperley and in Blackpool fans will get a close look at the stunning Jenny Packman dress she wore to rub shoulders with the glitterati at the ARK charity gala, in aid of the children's foundation founded by Arpad Busson.Some £150,000 and four months went into creating the statues - and each of the designers worked closely with the sculptors.Although William has been immortalised in the museum for years, the new figures will be Kate's first appearance.Madame Tussauds London, New York and Amsterdam will reveal them on April 4 with Blackpool following later in the month on April 18.

The newlyweds are not the only royals to have their wax figure unveiled this year. The Queen is also getting a makeover in time for her Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The new work is the 23rd of the monarch since she first appeared at the London attraction in 1928 at the age of two and has been modelled after her official Jubilee portrait.

Madame Tussauds have said that while the sovereign did not sit for this latest wax figure, the monarch is very involved and has sent over measurements and approvals.

The new figure, set to be unveiled in May, will replace the current sculpture created in 2001.
