YouGov's latest "Most Popular British Royal Family" ranking has crowned Princess Anne, King Charles' 76-year-old sister, as the nation's favourite royal, with a 67% positive-opinion score.

That puts the Princess Royal ahead of her nephew Prince William and his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, who have generally been seen as the family's most popular working royals. YouGov Ratings measures public opinion on "anything and everything" from millions of responses, and the royal rankings are tracked on an ongoing basis – so for Anne to top the list over the heir and his wife marks a genuine shift from the usual order.

Some will see this as overdue credit for a working royal known for quietly getting on with the job without the spotlight the Waleses attract; others will say one survey snapshot doesn't change who the public actually cares most about. Where do you land? Vote on your favourite royal below, and tell us in the comments whether you think Anne's new top spot is deserved or just a blip.
