Congratulations were no doubt forthcoming as Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden got together with some of her closest royal friends earlier this week. The royal, whose baby news was confirmed last week, was joined by her daughter Princess Estelle for an informal gathering at the summer estate of Norway's royal family in Mågerø, on the island of Tjøme, south of Oslo.
While Victoria's husband Prince Daniel was unable to attend the gathering due to a cold, the mother-to-be appeared happy to be in the company of her friends and fellow European royals in a group photo shared on the Swedish Palace's official Facebook page.
Princess Victoria was dressed casually in a grey top, jeans and trainers for the get together, and sat with three-year-old Estelle on her lap, who was wearing a grey dress with a bow in her hair.
As Princess Estelle's godmother, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark was no doubt overjoyed to hear of her friend's pregnancy news. The princess joined Victoria at the gathering along with husband Prince Frederik and their four children, Princess Isabella, Prince Christian and twins Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent.
Also joining the group were Prince Haakon of Norway, who hosted the gathering along with his wife Crown Princess Mette-Marit and their two children Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus.
Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are expecting their second child together
Prince Guillaume and Princess Stéphanie of Luxembourg also joined the gathering, which was designed to bring together the heirs and heiresses of the four kingdoms.
Princess Victoria's attendance at the event came just days after it was announced that she is expecting her second child with Prince Daniel. A statement from the Swedish royal household confirmed the happy news, explaining: "Their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are happy to announce that The Crown Princess is expecting their second child. The birth is expected to take place in March of 2016."
The new arrival will be a baby brother or sister for the couple's daughter Princess Estelle, who will turn four in February.
