The Duchess of Sussex has been named as an honouree at Ms. Foundation's Women in Vision gala, and it comes just a week after she won a Gracie award for her Archetypes podcast.

Meghan, 41, is expected to receive her award from activist and journalist Gloria Steinem, who is also a co-founder of Ms Foundation. The Duchess' friendship with Gloria goes way back, take a look at the pair in conversation in 2020...

The gala takes place at New York's Ziegfeld Ballroom on 16 May, where the foundation will also celebrate its 50th anniversary.

In a biography on the Ms. Foundation's website, Meghan is described as "a feminist, champion of human rights and gender equity, and global role model".

It adds: "Her lifelong advocacy for women and girls remains a constant thread she weaves through both humanitarian and business ventures".

Also named among the Women of Vision honourees are LaTosha Brown, Co-founder of Black Voters Matter, Wanda Irving, co-founder of Dr. Shalon's Maternal Action Project and Kimberly Inez McGuire, executive director of Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity.

Abortion rights activist Olivia Julianne and LGBTQ+ advocate Rebekah Bruesehoff are also among the winners.

"Meghan, LaTosha, Wanda, Kimberly, Olivia, and Rebekah are incredible leaders,” Teresa C. Younger, Ms. Foundation president and CEO, said in a statement. “We are grateful to be able to shine a light on their many accomplishments and tireless work on behalf of gender and racial equity across the country and the world."

It comes after Meghan and Harry shared the news on Friday that their Archewell Foundation is supporting two global relief organisations to help those affected by the Turkey-Syria earthquake in February.

Last month, the couple revealed in their impact report that through their foundation, they've provided 12.66 million COVID-19 vaccines, helped resettle 174,497 refugees, served 50,000 meals to the hungry, and rescued 7,468 individuals from Afghanistan.

The Duke made a surprise visit to the UK last week to attend a four-day preliminary hearing in his privacy case against the publisher of the Daily Mail. He was joined by his other high-profile co-claimants, including Sir Elton John.
