Meghan Markle appeared to be ignored by one of her close friends during a Hollywood gala over the weekend – but luckily, there's a simple explanation for it.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended David Foster's anniversary gala in Canada over the weekend, taking to the red carpet for photos.
But as Meghan and Harry lined up for a photo with record producer David and his wife, American Idol star Katharine McPhee, there was a rather awkward moment.
As Meghan extended her hand to David, she appeared to go unnoticed, with the musician walking straight past her and making a beeline elsewhere.
However, there seemed to be no bad blood as they all beamed for the cameras and the move appeared to be purely accidental.
In fact, David then appeared to catch sight of the couple for the first time, giving a nod to Prince Harry, while Katharine put her arm around Meghan.
What actually happened with Meghan and David Foster on the red carpet?
An insider told the Daily Mail that the composer "genuinely didn't see" As Ever founder Meghan on the red carpet.
The source added that David has always been a "big fan" of Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, and would "never snub" them, adding: "It's nothing."
Harry and Meghan were guests of honour at the event and were seated next to David and Katharine inside the venue.
The couples have been close friends for many years, with David previously arranging accommodation for Harry and Meghan on Vancouver Island during their visit to Canada in 2019.
Meanwhile, Meghan and Katharine went to school in LA together, with Katharine telling Access Hollywood in 2020 that Harry and David have a "really, really beautiful relationship".
Meghan and Harry's recent plans
Meghan and Harry jetted to Victoria in British Columbia over the weekend to attend the gala for the 40th anniversary of the David Foster Foundation.
The couple was seen walking the red carpet, with Meghan wearing a one-shouldered black gown by Canadian designer Greta Constantine.
It comes after Meghan celebrated her 45th birthday at home in Montecito, California, last week with the couple's two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Meghan shared a photograph of herself jumping into the pool, as well as a video of herself dancing around the kitchen, while Harry could be heard saying "Oh dear!" in the background.
The couple also filmed their dogs, beagle Mia and black Labrador Pula, attempting to wear party hats for the occasion, though they soon gave up when they didn't behave.
