Meghan Markle discussed the family reunion between King Charles and his grandchildren at a recent dinner party, Martha Stewart has claimed.

The American cooking star, 85, said she attended a recent dinner party with the Duchess of Sussex, 45, in California in a new cover interview with People Magazine.

She claimed that Meghan spoke openly about her visit to Highgrove to meet the King and Queen with Prince Harry and their children, Archie and Lilibet, in July.

"We were both guests at a dinner party in California. And she had just gotten back from the palace," Martha said.

"I didn’t talk to her really more than to say a couple words, but I know she was talking about it."

However, a source told the Daily Mail that the pair were not seated near one another and claimed Martha "must have been confused".

What do we know about Archie and Lilibet's reunion with King Charles?

Unfortunately, we know little about the family reunion between King Charles and his grandchildren last month, as it was kept private with no photos released.

The meeting on 10 July came following Prince Harry's trip to the UK for Invictus Games events.

Charles and Camilla welcomed Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, to Highgrove in Gloucestershire. It marked the first time the King had seen his grandchildren since 2022

Meghan later shared a series of photos from the family's holiday in Portugal and time in the UK on her personal Instagram account, with several pictures believed to have been taken at Althorp Estate and in Scotland.

How Meghan Markle is taking after Martha Stewart

Meghan and Martha have much in common as both are known for their cooking and lifestyle shows.

When the Duchess's Netflix cookery show, With Love, Meghan, first came out in 2025, many drew comparisons between her and the entrepreneur.

Addressing the similarities in her interview with People, Martha said: "If you're an actress, it's hard to then transition to a princess and then from a princess into a homemaking guru on a television show. It doesn't sort of follow. So go from there."

Martha previously told Yahoo Lifestyle last year: "Meghan, I don't really know very well. I hope she knows what she's talking about.

"Authenticity, to me, is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important," she added.

However, she said she "doesn't mind" having a successor, telling Meghan: "Good luck!"
