The late Queen's maid of honour's dinner with King Charles

A new report has revealed that Lady Anne Glenconner, who was maid of honour at Queen Elizabeth's Coronation in 1953, was invited for a one-on-one dinner with King Charles

After writing about the monarch's Coronation, Lady Glenconner (Anne Tennant) received an invitation to join the King at Buckingham Palace.

"I got a call from my daughter Amy,'" Anne, 93, told the Daily Mail's Richard Eden. "She said, 'Buckingham Palace wants to get in touch with you', so my heart sank because I thought I was in trouble."

Instead, the King invited her for dinner.

'He looked at me and said, 'How was it, Anne?' I said, 'Magnificent, sir, but different'.' She adds: 'It had to be.'

Prince Harry sued

Prince Harry is facing another legal battle, as Sentebale, a charity that he co-founded back in 2006, has sued him for defamation.

Accusations against Harry

Sentebale has accused Harry of orchestrating "a co-ordinated adverse media campaign conducted since 25 March 2025 that has caused operational disruption and reputational harm to the charity, its leadership, and its strategic partners".

"The proceedings have been brought against Prince Harry and Mark Dyer, identified through evidence as the architects of that adverse media campaign, which has had significant viral impact and triggered an onslaught of cyber-bullying directed at the charity and its leadership," reads the charity's statement.

Sentebale history

Last March, Harry confirmed that he was resigning from the charity that he co-founded with Lesotho's Prince Seeiso following an "unthinkable" controversy within the organisation.

The pair said their resignation came as the "relationship between the charity's trustees and the chair of the board broke down beyond repair, creating an untenable situation".

In response,  Dr Sophie Chandauka, the chairwoman of the board, said: "Beneath all the victim narrative and fiction that has been syndicated to press is the story of a woman who dared to blow the whistle about issues of poor governance, weak executive management, abuse of power, bullying, harassment, misogyny, misogynoir – and the coverup that ensued. I could be anyone. I just happen to be an educated woman who understands that the law will guide and protect me. I will say nothing further on this matter at this time."

What happened in Florida?

It was in April 2024 that HELLO! joined the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Challenge in Wellington, Florida, and caught the moment that would go on to become viral for all the wrong reasons. The clip shows Dr. Sophie Chandauka walking onto the stage for the cup ceremony, and initially standing next to Prince Harry before being asked by the Duchess if she'd like to, instead, stand in the middle next to Meghan.

Read our original report here.

Months later, Dr. Chandauka claimed that Meghan's appearance was last minute and threw off the schedule, admitting that the "choreography went badly on stage because we had too many people on stage."

The Duchess decided to attend, but she told us she wasn't attending, and she brought a friend, a very famous friend [Serena Williams]," she recalled. "The international press captured this, and there was a lot of talk about the Duchess and the choreography on stage and whether she should have been there and her treatment of me."

Dr. Chandauka also revealed that Prince Harry later asked her to issue a statement in support of Meghan which she refused to do, because the charity "cannot be an extension of the Sussexes".

Duke of Sussex responds

The Duke of Sussex and ex-Sentebale trustee Mark Dyer "categorically reject these offensive and damaging claims", a spokesperson for the pair said after Sentebale lodged a defamation action against them in the High Court.
