Harriet Sperling confirms name change following wedding
Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling had the royal wedding of the year earlier this month, but the royal couple have remained out of the limelight since. It appears that they haven't yet gone for their honeymoon, as the pair are due to join King Charles and Queen Camilla at the opening of Royal Ascot.
While they won't be riding in the lead carriage, it's been confirmed that the newlyweds will be present, they'll be joined by Peter's mother, Princess Anne, and Sir Ben Elliot, the nephew of Queen Camilla.
The first carriage will feature King Charles and Queen Camilla alongside the Duke and Duchess of Wellington. Meanwhile, the third carriage will carry the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, Gus Christie and his wife, Danielle de Niese.
The final carriage will carry Mr and Mrs Matt Ramsden and Mr and Mrs Luke Irwin.
King Charles tipped for success
HELLO!'s resident racing expert Charlie Atkin believes the King and Queen have a golden opportunity to add another Royal Ascot success to their record.
He states: "King Charles and Queen Camilla will be in attendance today not just as King and Queen, but also as racehorse owners. While they have a few runners across the week, their best chance of a winner will be in the Ascot Stakes, going off at 5pm today."
The horse is called Reaching High, who was favourite last year and looked a likely winner until meeting traffic in running. He returns this year, favourite again, with every chance of giving the King and Queen a Royal Ascot winner this year.
"If Reaching High wins, we can only hope for similarly jubilant scenes to when the late Queen Elizabeth II won the Gold Cup with Estimate in 2013. The King and Queen have enjoyed one winner since Charles became monarch, with Desert Hero in 2023. The colt was a surprising and also emotional winner, being bred by his late mother."
What will Prince George's life at Eton look like?
As promised, we have the first of our in-depth pieces looking at Prince George's life at Eton, where both his father and his uncle have both studied.
The young royal will be studying an incredible 28 subjects, including the usuals of English literature and mathematics, alongside more specialist languages like Mandarin and Japanese. He will also have the opportunity to have extra-curricular activities, with his father previously having enjoyed football while there.
So whether it's the culture that is fostered at the revered institution, or everything that George will be getting to grips with, it's clear that the future monarch is due to have a busy few years ahead of him.
Newlyweds!
Fresh from her decadent Cotswolds wedding earlier this month, Harriet Phillips had a stellar arrival at day one of Royal Ascot, riding in the carriage with her mother-in-law, Princess Anne.
The mother-of-one, 54, was a vision in an elegant duck egg blue gown by Suzannah London, complete with a matching hat by Jane Taylor London. As for accessories, the NHS nurse opted for Jimmy Choo stilettos, a bespoke Anya Hindmarch handbag and was decked out in jewels by Pragnell.
As for her new husband, Peter Phillips looked incredibly smart in his ensemble, complementing his wife's outfit by opting for a tie in a hue of the same blue colour palette.
Peter - who shares two daughters, Savannah and Isla, with his ex-wife Autumn Phillips - was beaming beside his wife, the newlyweds joining their royal family members, King Charles, Queen Camilla, Zara and Mike Tindall at the annual horse event.
Harriet's sister-in-law Zara looked beautiful for the occasion; the equestrian, 45, rocked a bubblegum puff-sleeve midi dress with a belted waist and scalloped lapels, accessorising with a matching hat, suede heels and a clutch bag.
Zara in bubblegum pink
Zara Tindall never disappoints when it comes to her fashion, and her ensemble for day one of Royal Ascot was no exception.
Joined by her husband of 15 years, Mike Tindall, the pair were pictured smiling as they posed for photos in matching pastel pink outfits. Princess Anne's daughter wore a striking bubblegum puff-sleeve midi dress with a belted waist and scalloped lapels, accessorising with a matching hat, suede heels and a clutch bag.
Meanwhile, former England rugby star Mike cut a dashing figure in a morning suit with a pink tie and a top hat.
Why Eton?
Sir Anthony Seldon, former headmaster at Wellington and Brighton College, has weighed in on why Eton is the perfect choice for Prince George.
He believes that Eton will give Prince George the freedom to study, forge friendships and make mistakes away from the public gaze.
Passing the reins
That's it from me, royal fans. I am handing over blogging duties to Beatriz in the US!
Setting the record straight
While Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's eldest daughter Princess Beatrice has stepped back from the royal limelight in recent months amid the scrutiny surrounding her parents, her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi has kept a busy travel agenda.
Edoardo, who is the founder and CEO of the property development and interior design company Banda Property, jetted off to the United States for a solo trip in January, followed by a visit to an exclusive island off the coast of Miami in March. Following speculation of a rift with his long-time wife, the British property developer has now defended his extensive travel amid the ongoing York family crisis.
"As you well know, it is completely normal for a business owner to travel for work. It happens in every industry," Edoardo claimed in a statement to the Daily Mail.
