The royals are no strangers to the New York groove, and this summer, HELLO! joined the rhythm, taking a bite out of the Big Apple. After hosting an exclusive event celebrating the life and legacy of the late Queen in London earlier this year, HELLO! travelled across the pond this summer for its first live event in the United States.

"We actually have as big an audience in the US as we do in the UK, so we thought it was time to start meeting our American readers," HELLO!'s Chief Content Officer Sophie Vokes-Dudgeon told attendees, some of whom had seen Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana in-person in the past.
With New York City serving as the backdrop to various royal moments over the years, it was the perfect setting for a live recording of HELLO!'s A Right Royal Podcast.
During the special episode, recorded at the Moxy NYC Chelsea for our VIP members, HELLO!'s Royal Editor Emily Nash, Digital Content Director Andrea Caamano and TV & Film Editor Emmy Griffiths explored the British royals' love affair with the Concrete Jungle.
From Queen Elizabeth's 1976 trip to Bloomingdale's that saw New York traffic reversed on Lexington Avenue, to Prince William flying under the radar in Central Park, anecdotes from royal visits were exchanged as the A Right Royal Podcast hosts delved into royal moments in the city, including one involving Princess Diana and America's unofficial Prince, John F. Kennedy Jr.
© Mike McGregorJoining the conversation was his former chief of staff RoseMarie Terenzio, author of Fairy Tale Interrupted: A Memoir of Life, Love and Loss and JFK Jr.: An Intimate Oral Biography, who shared how she helped pull off Diana and JFK Jr.'s secret meeting at the luxurious Carlyle hotel on the Upper East Side, describing it as the "biggest caper in New York City."
RoseMarie also revealed what the former first son had to say about the British Princess, whom John wanted for the cover of his magazine George, and one concept they had had in mind for Diana, admitting that, now, "in hindsight, it was chilling."

While we might have been in a New York groove as we retraced the royals' steps throughout the city in the days leading up to the live event, the second floor of the Moxy NYC Chelsea was in a royal state of mind that June afternoon.
