The Princess of Wales and her family are very indulgent when it comes to their beloved Prince William.

This was demonstrated last Sunday, when they were left awkwardly hovering as a very chatty Prince of Wales couldn't stop talking as they arrived at Wimbledon.

Just as Kate, 44, put a gentle hand on her husband's back to signal they were ready to go, he spotted someone he knew and rushed past once again, saying: "How are you? How's the heat been this year?"

Kate, Prince George, 12, and Princess Charlotte, 11, were left in limbo, having finished their conversations as an oblivious William kept talking.

You can watch the moment in full in the video above.

The trio was seen giggling at his obvious enthusiasm as they patiently stood behind him. When William appeared to have finished his conversation, Kate asked him: "Great, okay?" making sure he was ready to move on.

The Wales family later sat in the Royal Box in Centre Court to watch Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner claim his second Wimbledon title in a row after defeating Alexander Zverev.

The Prince of Wales has time and time again proven himself to be talkative, candid, and warm when meeting new people during public engagements.

William, 44, can often be seen taking selfies, stopping to chat with well-wishers, and sharing light-hearted jokes as he meets children or pets.

The down-to-earth Prince often makes stop-offs at the pub, for example, when he visited a Wetherspoons with Aston Villa fans last year.

He's often the first to come up with a joke, and was a complete natural as he took customer orders on the phone during a visit to Gear Farm Pasty Shop in Cornwall in March.

However, William and Kate's roles were reversed on Christmas Day in 2024. The Princess of Wales took so long to greet well-wishers that she quipped: "I seem to have lost my family!"

Prince William's tough week

The Prince of Wales is a huge football fan, so like the rest of us, he's very sad that England have been knocked out of the World Cup and won't be playing in Sunday's final.

After the team lost 2-1 to Argentina on Wednesday, the Prince wrote on social media: "Gutted. England, you gave it everything and we are all so proud of you. Thank you to everyone on and off the pitch, for an incredible tournament.

It's been a tough week for Prince William

"The fight and belief you have shown has inspired us all. The most complete England team in a tournament. Hold your heads high."

Surprisingly, William had not attended any of the team's games this year, which is very unusual, as he's usually in the stands at every chance he gets.

It's been reported that he hasn't attended in person this year as it's an important time for his family due to it being the summer holidays.

A friend of the family told the Daily Mail's Richard Eden: "It's been an important time for the family, as George has finished at Lambrook."
