King Charles' younger sister Princess Anne and brother Prince Edward both keep an incredibly busy schedule as equally hardworking members of the royal family.
The two are often out and about on their own engagements across the country. While they routinely reunite with other senior royals on major occasions like Trooping the Colour and Christmas Day in Sandringham, the royal siblings' working schedules in between rarely overlap.
Despite typically carrying out their engagements separately or with their respective spouses, the two joined forces on Thursday for day seven of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Anne sat in the stands at Scotstoun Stadium on 30 July for the athletics and para athletics events alongside her brother and his wife, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.

Anne didn't sit directly beside her brother and sister-in-law, but the royal trio all cheered on Team England from the same row.
Edward, who is the vice-patron of Commonwealth Sport, kept his eyes glued to the track while his wife Sophie leaned over in Anne's direction in one photo snapped from the rare joint outing.
Anne and Edward's different royal duties
Anne and Edward tend to divide their duties with trips that are aligned with their different patronages, though there is the occasional overlap at events like the Commonwealth Games.
The Princess Royal is involved with over 300 charities and organisations with a focus on sport and the military. Anne regularly shows her support at rugby union games and favours horse racing and sailing as part of her numerous long-standing sport patronages. She carries out hundreds of engagements a year, sometimes several in a day, and often tops the hardest working royals list.
© Getty ImagesJust like his sister, Edward regularly carries out engagements across the nation and abroad, though his patronages are more centred around things like youth development and the arts. However, he has patronages to do with athletics, including the British Paralympic Association, which he has been involved with since 2003.
Edward serves as the vice-patron of the Commonwealth Games Federation and has attended every Commonwealth Games since Edinburgh hosted in 1986.
Their last joint outing

The pair joined their brother Charles and his wife Camilla for a garden party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh on 30 June. Anne looked lovely for the occasion in a patterned red dress and wide-brimmed hat while Edward was dapper in a suit and top hat.
A couple of weeks earlier, the siblings reunited for day three of Royal Ascot on 18 June where they watched the horse racing together from the Royal Box. They were seen chatting alongside Edward's wife Sophie and Anne's daughter Zara Tindall, who matched her mum in a statement hat.
