The King has left royal fans doing a "double take" and "needing to look twice" after spotting his uncanny resemblance to a very close relative.
Charles, 77, was seen driving through Braemar in Aberdeenshire on Thursday, close to his Balmoral estate.
He looked relaxed as he took to the wheel in his Range Rover, wearing a casual checked shirt and brown overcoat. It was his first appearance since his son, Prince Harry, arrived back in the UK.
But royal fans were soon distracted by his very close likeness to his late father, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away in April 2021, aged 99.

Commenting on HELLO!'s Instagram post, another person added: "Wow, he looks just like his father."
Others commented: "Looks just like Prince Philip," and: "I actually thought it was Prince Philip. Lovely to see His Majesty looking relaxed."
King Charles's relationship with Prince Philip
It's now been more than five years since the death of Charles's beloved father, Prince Philip.
The relationship between Charles and Philip was reportedly complicated at times, but they had many happy memories too.
The monarch previously spoke of the final conversation he had with his father in a moving BBC documentary, Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers, which aired shortly after his death, during which he revealed they spoke of Philip's upcoming 100th birthday that June.

"I said (speaks loudly), 'We're talking about your birthday,' because he was getting a bit deaf. And he said, 'What?' And I said, 'We're talking about your birthday and whether there's going to be a reception.'"
Laughing, Charles went on: "And he said, 'Well I've got to be alive for it, haven't I?'" After a pause, Charles added: "I said, 'I knew you'd say that!' Anyway, it's a happy memory."
Latest on King Charles's summer stay at Balmoral
King Charles is still at Balmoral with Queen Camilla for his summer holiday, though the Prince and Princess of Wales have now departed following their week-long trip.
However, the monarch is soon set for a busy agenda as he returns to work next week.

Their royal tour will take place from Tuesday, 27 October to Wednesday, 4 November 2026, meaning the upcoming months will likely be very busy.

He is said to be looking forward to spending more time with them in a private capacity, following their reunion at Highgrove House last month.
