A little over a month since she welcomed her third child, Princess Eugenie has been photographed back in London.

The 36-year-old - who gave birth to Adelaide on 3 August - was spotted on the streets of the capital with unidentified friends, greeting them with affectionate hugs as they happily chatted.

Eugenie was dressed for comfort in a pair of black leggings, a loose black top, and with a checked shirt tied around her waist. She sported a pair of red sunglasses, wore sports trainers, and had her hair tied back in a messy bun.

It was likely the first time Eugenie had connected with her pals since welcoming her baby girl. Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank was , and it was thought the Princess might still be there while adjusting to life as a mum of three.

As well as her newborn, Eugenie is a proud mum to two little boys, August, five, and three-year-old Ernest. She has already taken to Instagram to share photos of the new big brothers doting over little Adelaide, including one showing the boys lying down next to their sister as the three siblings cuddled together.

Andrew and Sarah

With Eugenie now back in the UK, it might be that she will , and Sarah Ferguson

While Andrew has been living in exile in Marsh Farm on the Sandringhan estate, Sarah is thought to have only recently returned to the UK after many months keeping a low-profile abroad.

The former Duchess of York, 66, is said to be moving into a £10,000-a-month, six-bedroom gated property in the Home Counties after spending the first half of the year unaccounted for, aside from being spotted twice in Austria and Switzerland.

Why has Sarah returned?

HELLO!'s royal editor Emily Nash believes there are a "couple of things" behind Sarah's decision to move back - not least because of the arrival of Euegnie's baby girl.

Some reports have also suggested that Sarah could be in line to inherit a sum of money from her late ex-boyfriend Paddy McNally, whose funeral Princess Beatrice attended.

Emily said: "I think the fact that she's come back now is really interesting. And there are a couple of things that could be behind it.

"One, she may potentially have inherited some money from her great friend whose property she was staying in in Switzerland (Paddy McNally).

"But I think probably the key thing for her will be her grandchildren and wanting to spend more time with them. She's just welcomed a new granddaughter, Adelaide.

"And while Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are based in Portugal, they do come back and forth. But she also has Beatrice's children. And what grandmother doesn't want to be closer to them? She can't live in exile forever."

The meaning behind Eugenie's daughter's name

Eugenie took two weeks to announce her daughter's name to the world. "Adelaide" was partly inspired by Maria Adelaide of Portugal and William IV's wife, Queen Adelaide. However, there is a subtle connection to Prince William and Princess Kate, too, as the royal couple used to reside at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

The baby's middle name, "Elizabeth," is notably a tribute to Eugenie's late paternal grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Many royal family members have Elizabeth as their middle name, including both of Princess Beatrice's daughters. While the meaning behind her other middle name, "Annina," has yet to be revealed, it could be a nod to Eugenie's friend, Annina Pfuel.
