Davina Sheffield, one of King Charles' ex-girlfriends who was once tipped to be the future Queen, has sadly died at the age of 75.
Davina passed away on 2 September, with her three sons, Tom, Billy and Henry, confirming her passing. The 75-year-old passed away following a short illness, and a celebration of life service is being planned for 2 November.
Davina and Charles were first linked in 1976, and the couple appeared to be going strong, with royal watchers at the time even calling her the royal's "soulmate".
Charles and Davina were often seen together at society events, with the royal even bringing her as his guest to a wedding. On one occasion, Davina was seen sitting with the late Queen and Prince Philip at an equestrian event. She also travelled with the then Prince of Wales up to Balmoral to meet his family, winning the approval of the Queen Mother.
However, their romance was "killed stone dead" when Davina's ex-boyfriend, powerboat racer James Beard, went public with their former romance and "love nest". At the time, royal convention dictated that Charles choose an "unblemished" bride.
Davina was the granddaughter of the 1st Lord McGowan, who previously served as the Chairman of Imperial Chemical Industries, and she was also the cousin of Samantha Cameron.

King Charles' other relationships
After he and Davina split, Charles was linked to Lady Jane Wellesley, Lady Amanda Knatchbull, Sabrina Guinness, Lady Sarah Spencer and Lady Diana Spencer.
Charles would go on to marry Diana, with the royal becoming the Princess of Wales. Charles and Diana welcomed two children, Prince William and Prince Harry, but their marriage was far from a fairytale, and they separated in 1992, before officially divorcing in 1996. The following year, Diana was tragically killed in a car crash in Paris.

There was controversy when Charles admitted he was unfaithful while still married to Diana, having rumoured to have had a long-term affair with Camilla. After the tragic death of Diana, the two kept their blossoming relationship low-key. However, they made their first public appearance together in 1999, at a party at the Ritz Hotel in London.

The bride was elegant in a Philip Treacy hat and full-length porcelain blue silk Robinson Valentine dress with a hand-painted ikat design, hand-embroidered with gold threadwork. During the wedding toast, guests reported that Charles shouted "I love Camilla" as he raised his glass.
