The Princess of Wales found herself in a slight "predicament" during Tuesday night's , after her dress became trapped underneath her chair.

Catherine, 43, wowed in a stunning yellow gown from Elie Saab paired with the Lover's Knot tiara as she joined her husband, Prince William, and the King and Queen for the lavish dinner at Windsor Castle in honour of the Sultan of Oman.

But as King Charles delivered his speech, praising his eldest son and the relationship between the two countries, royal fans quickly noted that the Princess was facing a difficult situation with her outfit.

"Nooooooo the chair on the dress," one person noted, while another worried: "If she gets up, chaos will follow."

As Kate quietly listened to her father-in-law's speech, she appeared not to notice that the cape of her gown was lodged underneath the leg of her chair, meaning it was at risk of being torn.

However, she was soon spotted standing up again and chatting with guests, so the stunning ensemble appeared to be undamaged.

For the banquet, the Princess wore a showstopping gown by Lebanese designer Elie Saab, featuring a V-neckline and sheer cape.

She paired the look with her go-to tiara, Queen Mary's Lover's Knot, adding the late Queen's earrings and bracelet, alongside the King Charles II Royal Family Order, GCVO Sash and Star.

The stunning jewelled tiara features 19 diamond arches featuring "lover's knots" and pearls.

Earlier in the day, during the official welcome at Datchet Road in Windsor, the Princess wore a green coat by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, which she previously wore in 2025 and 2022. She added a very stylish hat from Juliette Botterill.

Later, Catherine underwent a speedy outfit change before viewing items from the Royal Collection, as she didn't appear to be wearing the lace top she'd sported earlier in the day.

Instead, she opted for a velvet green Norma Kamali dress, paired with a leather belt.

They enjoyed a Scottish crab and langoustine starter, Windsor pheasant main, and baked Alaska for dessert.

In a banquet speech, Charles said there can be "few happier symbols of success" than watching a relationship passed between generations – a reference to the Prince of Wales and Sayyid Theyazin, who were joint patrons of an Omani expedition.

The King spoke proudly about William as he hosted Sultan Haitham bin Tarik al Said at the start of his state visit, a few hours after the publication of Prince Harry’s GQ magazine interview, where he stated he "wants it to work out" with his family – but claimed that others "don’t want to".
