Prince William made a very special appearance on BBC Breakfast on Monday morning in an interview with Sally Nugent.
The future King spoke on camera about his personal admiration for Sir Kevin Sinfield. (The full interview will be shown in Thank You Sir Kev, which will air on Monday 26 October on BBC One at 20:00.)
And after a clip from their chat together was shown, Sally made a candid confession about an 'awkward' moment she shared with the Prince.
She told her co-host Jon Kay: "That was an interview that has been years in the making. I know the Prince and Princess [of Wales] have followed Rob [Burrows] and Kevin for all of these years, so it was great to finally talk to him."
Sally continued: "And you know when I go and do interviews normally it's very very relaxed and we all have a picture at the end…. Look what I did…"
As the photo appeared on screen, the TV star exclaimed: Look, look! Look at me with my awkward hands!
"I said to him, 'What are we gonna do with our hands?', and he said, 'Well, I'm going to do this'. So I thought, well I'll just do the same… you can't put your arms around the Prince of Wales, can you?!"
Sally has also shared the snapshot on her Instagram page - but thankfully her followers chose to focus on something else!
The comments section was quickly flooded with heart emojis and applause, with one fan writing: "This is INSANE!"
"Wonderful ,BBC could not have a better presenter than Sally for this programme," a second wrote, and a third said: "Look forward to seeing your interview with HRH, and the programme about sir Kev #legend."
A fourth person noted: "Sally you're wonderful and so is Prince William!" and a fifth enthused: HRH William Prince of Wales is the G.O.A.T!!"
In his interview, William said giving Sir Kevin Sinfield his knighthood was "probably one of the easiest decisions anyone's ever had to make".
Sir Kevin recently completed seven ultra marathons in seven days to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) charities following the death of his best friend and former rugby teammate, Rob Burrow from the condition in 2024.
"I think frankly he should have been Sir Kevin years ago," said the Prince.
"I don't know how he keeps going, I'm worried about his knees, I'm worried about his hips! The guy is just a machine, William added.
"He's a top bloke, really nice guy, good, honest, kind, decent northerner and I love that about Kevin, that there is no ego with him. He is what you get."
