Six seasons into its run, Slow Horses has amassed a dedicated fanbase around the world, including two senior royals.
The British spy thriller, which centres around a dysfunctional MI5 unit, has become one of Apple TV+'s biggest hits to date, with a plethora of award nominations and wins and a 98 per cent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Gary Oldman leads the critically acclaimed series as the brilliant but abrasive head of Slough House, Jackson Lamb.
According to the Oscar winner, both Queen Camilla and Prince William count themselves as "big fans" of the show.
© Courtesy of Apple"I know that Camilla, the Queen, is a big fan because, well, I’ve run into her a couple of times. Like you do, you know. And she said: 'Are there any more? I hope it’s coming back, isn’t it?" Gary revealed on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
"It was William who said to me, 'Every time you come on the screen, I just want to give you a good wash'," he added.
"So they’re big fans. It’s hard to imagine, isn’t it? There’s sort of one of the Windsors at the palace on their sofa – 'Slow Horses is nearly on'."

In September last year, Prince William presented the Slow Horses actor with a knighthood at Windsor Castle for his services to drama. Gary said he felt "very emotional" receiving the honour.
After he was named in the King's Birthday Honours, Gary spoke to HELLO! ahead of the ceremony about his preparations for the special day.
"Well, funny you should mention it. I had my Paul Smith suit fitting, my first fitting, this morning before I came here," he told us at the inaugural Televerse Festival at LA Live on 14 August.
© PA"I think one should [get a special suit] for the occasion," he added, before sharing that he does have a date for the investiture ceremony but cannot spill the beans.
"That's the thing," he continued, "because I knew a few weeks in advance of the news being released, but there's an embargo on it, and then the family said to me, 'Oh, you knew and you didn't tell us.' And I said, '....the Royal Family told me not to say anything and I'm going to follow the rules!'"
