Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have had a difficult year in the public eye, and the latest YouGov poll suggests their popularity has yet to recover. In the survey, Beatrice, 38, is liked by 29% of people and disliked by 31%, while Eugenie, 36, is liked by 28% and disliked by 31%.
That is a two-point improvement for both sisters since July, but well short of their ratings before the summer, which had never dropped below +12 since YouGov began including them in May 2024. Their ratings fell sharply amid the scandal surrounding their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who denies wrongdoing.
This year the sisters missed the Easter service at Windsor, Royal Ascot and the Buckingham Palace garden parties, with their only royal occasion the wedding of Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling on 6 June. Eugenie has also recently welcomed a baby daughter, Adelaide.
With the festive season approaching, it raises the question of whether the sisters will spend Christmas at Sandringham with the royal family, as they did last year, or celebrate elsewhere.
Some feel Christmas is about family and they should be welcomed with open arms, while others think a quieter Christmas away from the spotlight would be wiser for now. Vote in our poll and tell us in the comments – should Beatrice and Eugenie be at Sandringham this year?
