Having been a “housewife” in London for 15 years, the reality TV star Juliet Angus is perfectly placed to offer guidance to any of her fellow Americans looking to settle into a new life in the UK.
“I feel at home here,” she says on this week's Second Act podcast with Ateh Jewel. “I was just in the US for six weeks. It did not feel home.”
Juliet believes it is her reactive nature that has made her so popular on The Real Housewives of London, particularly when she clashes with the likes of co-star Amanda Cronin. “She’s calling me her bestie at the moment, so I’m going with it, Juliet says.
She credits “being opposites” but “sharing core values” for her rock-solid 19-year marriage to businessman Gregor, with whom she has a daughter, Georgina “Gigi”, 18, and a son, Truman, 16. The family recently waved Gigi off to university in California.
“I cry every day," she says. "My husband had a little bit of a cry the other night too, and I was like, what? He's like, ‘I just can't believe she's not upstairs.’"
Having treated herself to an eye lift after turning 50 last year, Juliet says she is changing her mind on going under the knife to look more youthful, like her friend and former Ladies of London co-star Caroline Stanbury. “I don't want to become a different person, just a little tweaking. I used to be like, ‘Never, I'm scared of surgery.’ And then all of a sudden I'm in the mirror and I'm like, ‘Maybe I could use a facelift.’”
