Recently single This Morning presenter Lisa Snowdon has a spring in her step after enjoying a holiday romance in Bali… with herself.

The former model jumped on the solo travel trend and discovered it was the balm she needed to reset and refocus on her future, with a new career plan to be a Yoga teacher.

“I was in a four poster bed, the mosquito net blowing in the fan and I was like, oh, I'm having a romantic moment to myself! It was really special. And I thought, I don't need anyone. I've always been super independent. If somebody comes into my life, then I'm open to it, but I'm not actively searching right now. I just want to do things. I want to see my girls, see my family and travel.”

Lisa split from fiance George Smart earlier in the summer after 12 years together. Talking to Ateh Jewel on the Second Act podcast for the first time about their break up, she reveals: “People change, life changed, you just grow apart. And, you know, it was over ten years together. And there was some great times, I refuse to look back at it all being really negative. It's just like people change. And now what's going to be my future? You can't stay in a relationship that isn't right.”

While she tells Ateh Jewel on the Second Act podcast that she is not ready to jump back into a long term relationship just yet, she is open to finding ‘chemistry’ with someone at some point.

“I've never been an app kind of girl,” she says. “I was on Raya years ago, but I like real life dating.

“I'd say I’m probably looking for chemistry now. I think I just want fire, fire, fire.  I'm really shallow. I think as we’re getting older and our lives becoming so full, I don't want anybody in my space.”

Lisa has chatted honestly in the past about her struggles to conceive, but now she is in her fifties she is ‘at peace’ with being a hands-on auntie instead of someone’s mum.

“It's taken a while to get to the place where I'm comfortable and it doesn't hurt my heart anymore,” she says. “I lost a baby in my early 40s, and I thought that was going to be my kind of miracle child. But that didn't happen.

“There was a little bit of mourning, sadness, grieving period. And then the peri-menopause came and I just thought, I would have been having such a juggling act of trying to look after myself as well as a baby.

Lisa Snowdon: Why I ended my 12-year relationship at 54 | Second Act Podcast

“Stepping into my 55th year I’m actually feeling really good. When I was in my 40s, I was single and thinking it might be my last chance to have a baby. You are just so conditioned into ‘that clock is ticking. Hurry, hurry up.’

“I don't have to worry about any of that now. There's no chance I'm having a baby. So it's all about me now. I've made peace with that.”

She adds; “I'm feeling like me again now, this is my era. I'm single, I'm feeling strong, I’m feeling excited.”
